Trattoria in Lübeck's old town

To the trattoria with kids

Here, grandparents, parents and children sit at one table. Wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta are always a hit with the little ones, and in the early evening the restaurant is quiet enough for a relaxed meal.

Families are part of everyday life here

We run the trattoria as a family, and that shapes how we treat our guests: a child standing between the tables watching the wood-fired oven doesn't bother anyone here. Pizza and pasta are the dishes that disappear fastest from the family table — Margherita and spaghetti with tomato sauce are almost always a hit with the little ones.

What awaits you at the family table

From a half portion of pasta to a seat with a view of the wood-fired oven: we handle much of this informally at the table during service, though some things are easier if you mention them in advance.

Small portions

On request, we serve pasta and risotto as half portions, so nothing goes to waste. Just mention it when ordering — it costs no extra effort, just a word.

Pizza for children

A Margherita from the wood-fired oven without herbs, without spice, cut into smaller pieces: the house's most reliable order. It comes out of the oven within minutes.

Seating

We'll put larger tables together if you're coming with grandparents or a second family. A high chair and a spot where the stroller isn't in the way, by arrangement.

Quiet early evening

Evening service begins at 5:30 pm. In the first hour, the restaurant is still quiet, the food arrives quickly, and you'll be finished before it gets loud.

A view of the kitchen

Anyone who gets to watch the pizzaiolo slide a pizza into the oven waits for their food with noticeably more patience. We'll keep a spot near the oven free if requested at the time of booking.

Dolci to finish

An ice cream or a piece of dolce to finish — often the part of the evening the children mention first. Also available to share from one bowl.

Our understanding of hospitality

A child at the table doesn't bother anyone here

We're a family ourselves, and we know that a meal with children doesn't always go quietly. Our service is prepared for that — and for the question of whether the pizza can be cut into small pieces.

Times and tables

When it's quietest

With small children, the time is often more important than the table. These time slots have proven to be the most relaxed.

Midday from 12:00 pm

We open at 12:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. The first half hour is usually the quietest – good for prams and large groups.

Early evening 5:30 to 7:00 pm

Right after opening at 5:30 pm, tables in the dining room are still free and food arrives quickly.

Lunch menu Tuesday to Friday

From 12:00 to 2:30 pm the lunch menu runs with short waiting times – handy on school-free days.

Ready for a relaxed family visit?

We'll reserve your family table and set it up entirely around your children's needs.
