Trattoria in Lübeck's old town

Celebrate like family

Birthdays, christenings and anniversaries at one shared table: antipasti to share, homemade pasta, wood-fired pizza and dolci to finish. We'll agree on the menu with you in advance.

Occasions that call for a long table

Most family celebrations with us begin with a platter in the middle of the table and end with nobody wanting to get up. Three occasions come up particularly often.

Birthdays

From an early-afternoon children's birthday to a milestone celebration in the evening. Feel free to bring the cake yourself — we'll provide plates, a cake server and a spot for it.

Christenings and communions

After the celebration in the old town, it's just a few minutes to us at Marlesgrube 14. We set the table so there's room for a pram and a high chair.

Anniversaries and family gatherings

A silver wedding anniversary, a grandparent's birthday, or simply relatives who rarely get together: one continuous table instead of scattered tables for two.

Process

From enquiry to dolce

We plan a family celebration in manageable steps. You tell us the occasion, the date and roughly how many people, and we work out everything else together — usually in a short conversation at the restaurant, where you can see the table arrangement on the spot.

You get in touch by phone or via the reservation form with the occasion, preferred date, time and number of guests. We check which table area is available and hold the date for you on a non-binding basis. For christenings and milestone birthdays, we recommend four to six weeks' notice, and a little earlier for weekends.

Occasions

Every occasion has its own rhythm

A christening at midday runs differently from a birthday in the evening. That's why we plan time slots, courses and seating differently depending on the occasion. Here's what we pay attention to for the celebrations that take place with us most often.

We usually schedule birthdays for the evening, starting at 5:30pm or later. A generous spread of antipasti on the table, which everyone helps themselves to, has proven popular — it gets the group talking before the main course follows. If you bring your own cake, we'll keep it chilled, cut it on your cue and serve it with espresso. For children's birthdays, small pizzas from the wood-fired oven are the safest option: they reach the table quickly and every child gets their own.
